Day 1 – Arrive Amelia Island Plantation
Today, you arrive at our favorite hotel in Northeast Florida, the Amelia Island Plantation Resort for a four night stay. Enjoy luxurious oceanfront accommodations, world-class resort pools, championship golf, full-service spa, endless dining options and activities. Dinner is included at a resort restaurant. (D)
Day 2 – Amelia Island – Kingsley Plantation – Fernandina Beach
Start the day with a Guided Tour of Amelia Island. With 13 miles of beautiful beaches, abundant native wildlife, and pristine waters, this barrier island has long been a beloved destination for visitors and residents alike. Enjoy a tour through the historic downtown covering the history of the buildings, homes, and a historical exploration (it was controlled by France, Spain and England) of the area.
This afternoon you will have time to explore Fernandina Beach. Fernandina Beach is on Amelia Island at Florida’s northeast border. Downtown Fernandina Beach also offers boutique shopping and a range of scrumptious restaurants.
Then you head to Jacksonville to tour the Kingsley Plantation located on Fort George Island. Anna Kingsley was the first black woman in Florida to own three plantations and her own slaves. This is a must hear story. You can explore the grounds at Kingsley Plantation, which include the slave quarters, barn, waterfront, plantation house, kitchen house, and interpretive garden. The visitor contact station/bookstore is located in a 1920s building adjacent to the plantation buildings.
Returning to Amelia Island, dinner is on your own. Explore the Resort or the town, There are many wonderful options. (B)
Day 3 – St Augustine
This morning you head to St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, and also one of the nation’s most charming. Meet a local guide and start the day with a city tour. Discover more than four centuries of history that owes much to the Spanish and English, to Greeks and Native Americans and African Americans. Afterwards, you have time for lunch on own and shopping in the Historic District.
Next, you take a ride on the Black Raven Pirate Ship. This is a one-of-a-kind live pirate show full of music, thrills and pure entertainment! Participate in our adventure, sing along with our crew, and find your inner pirate while you see the beautiful sights of the Matanzas River.
Then the last attraction of the afternoon is Ponce De Leon’s Fountain of Youth (c.a.1513.) You will discover it as an Archaeological Park and you will learn of that first encounter in 1513 between the Spanish and the Indians. Your tour guide will also show you the original spring and you will have a chance to drink from just as thousands before you have.

Day 4 – Jacksonville
After breakfast at the hotel, you depart for Jacksonville where you meet a local guide for a city tour. The “River City by the Sea” boasts more than 20 miles of wide and uncrowded beaches, close to 40 miles of the tranquil Intracoastal Waterway canal, and the longest stretch of the beautiful St. Johns River. All the natural beauty is surrounded by a modern and vibrant city filled with authentic dining options, thrilling attractions, and world-class museums.
This afternoon you take a St. Johns River Cruise. Enjoy a narrated cruise with of local and river history along with illustrated accounts of the numerous bird species, alligators, and other wild critters that call this area home. Frequent stops are made for photographs, intimate encounters, and a thorough look at this most fragile ecosystem.
Once you return to Amelia Island, dinner is included at a local seafood restaurant. (B,D)
Day 5 – Depart Amelia Island
After breakfast, depart for home. (B)
