Day 1: Travel to Bentonville, AR and check into your hotel for a two night stay. Dinner tonight at Fred’s Hickory Inn. This is Bentonville’s oldest restaurant and a favorite of Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart.

Day 2: Visit the Walton’s 5 & Dime, this orginal store was the start of Sam Walton’s Wal-Mart empire, circa 1945. While maintaining its authentic facade, its interior has been transformed from small town store to the Wal-Mart Visitor Center, with a blue vested greeter at the front door, Wal-Mart souvenirs, and trade show like displays depicting the Wal-Mart history. Next you see the Tyson Food Poulty Exhibit at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale, AR. The Shiloh Museum takes its name from the pioneer community of Shiloh which became Springdale in the 1870s. The grounds feature six historic buildings, shaded walking paths, and picnic tables. In addition to regional exhibits focusing on the history of the Ozark people, the museum houses a research library with over 700,000 photographs. You will also drive the home of J.B. Hunt Trucking and see where the trucking industry began here in NW Arkansas.

Tour the first home of Bill and Hillary Clinton when they taught Law School at the University of Arkansas. The small, unassuming home which is now on the National Register of historic places in Fayetteville holds a place in history. Bill and Hillary Clinton were married in the living room and the museum museum houses photographs, historical documents, and videos that depict the earliest stages of the Clinton’s professional and public lives. Tour the RFID Research Center at the University of Arkanas. The Center spans many disciplines including retail, supply chain, industrial engineering, and computer science, among others. The center’s base of operations is a lab which models a production warehouse and retail store environment in 10,000 sq. ft. New Findings confirm that radio-frequency identification tags on individual retail items can significantly improve inventory accuracy, even within departments or stores that already have high inventory accuracy. Tonight dinner is at the Catfish Hole serving the best catfish in all of Northwest Arkansas. Or you could also dine at the Famous AQ Chicken House featuring the best pan fired chicken – you choose.

Day 3: After breakfast, depart for home.
