Day 1 – Arrive in Chattanooga, TN and check into the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel for a three night stay. The Chattanooga Choo Choo is the only Historic Hotels of America resort in Chattanooga, TN. The Terminal Station in downtown Chattanooga has been converted into the most fun and beautiful of all Chattanooga hotels! Dinner is on own this evening.
Day 2 – After breakfast, your day begins with a ride on the steepest passenger railway in the world – Lookout Mountain’s Incline Railway. The Incline’s trolley style cars climb through the natural beauty surrounding historic Lookout Mountain, while you sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic views of the mountains and valleys from the observation windows on the trail. Enjoy the panoramic views from the observation tower at the Incline’s top station. Your bus will meet you at the top station and take you to Ruby Falls, the massive underground waterfall that has been a major tourist attraction for 75 years. Next, visit Rock City Gardens a true marvel of nature featuring massive rock formations, gardens with over 400 native plant species and a breathtaking “See 7 States” panoramic view.
Then this afternoon your tour becomes an adventure you board an authentic renovated WWII amphibious landing vehicle for a narrated tour of downtown Chattanooga. Just when you think you’ve seen it all by land, you splash into the Tennessee River for unforgettable views of Chattanooga Riverfront and McClellan Island.
Dinner this evening is a great barbecue experience at Sticky Fingers Ribhouse. This is the home of some of the best barbecue in the South. Your group will dine on a legendary Memphis-style hickory-smoked ribs, wings, and barbecue.
Day 3 – Today you ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, departing from the charming mountain village of Blue Ridge, GA, this train travels into the lush Chattahoochee National Forest. The relaxing ride starts at the historic depot, built in 1905, then stops for a layover in the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, GA & Copperhill, TN. Copperhill/McCaysville is one town with two names because it is split by the GA/TN state line. You will have a two hour layover, enjoy lunch on own, shop for unique crafts and antiques, visit the model railroad layout, or walk across the old bridge in town to view the river.
This evening, back in Chattanooga you enjoy a dinner cruise on the Southern Belle Riverboat. Cruise along the scenic Tennessee River with live music and a delicious dinner. You will also enjoy the view of the Chattanooga skyline and the colors of the mountains.
Day 4 – After breakfast this morning, depart for home.
