Day 1 – Arrive Charleston, SC – Today, you arrive in Charleston, S.C where you check into your downtown hotel for an overnight stay. Dinner this evening is on your own. Charleston has many award-winning options for dinner: high-end Charleston restaurants, outdoor cafés and fresh from the dock seafood.
Day 2 – Horse Drawn Carriage Ride & Board the Carnival Sunshine – This morning after breakfast, clippity clop your way back to the Colonial times with a horse-drawn carriage tour that reveals 300+ years of history including antebellum mansions, churches, and cobblestone streets of historic Charleston.
After your morning Carriage Ride, your coach will drop you off at the Port of Charleston where you will board the Carnival Sunshine. Everything the sunlight touches on Carnival Sunshine has been doused with an extra dose of fun. There’s plenty to find atop this ship, where you can spend your days being kissed by the warm rays of the sun. Visit the biggest Serenity area ever, featuring three decks, plenty of recliners… and even a waterfall.
When you’re on the Carnival Sunshine, step out of the sun and try out some shade. The first thing you’ll see is the Sunshine Atrium… and let’s just say first impressions count. From there, check out dining options — this ship has everything under the Carnival sun — like Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse and JiJi Asian Kitchen. Some of the greatest Carnival bars are here: RedFrog Pub, BlueIguana Tequila Bar, SkyBox Sports Bar and Alchemy Bar… plus the already-classic Havana Bar! You’ll enjoy musical revues from Playlist Productions, while Hasbro, The Game Show gets cruisers like you up on stage, competing in larger-than-life family favorites come to life. The ship will depart at 6:00 p.m.
Day 3 – Fun Day At Sea – The day is spent sailing the Caribbean waters. Discover the many amenities onboard ship, relax in the spa, or test your luck in the casino. You may want to try Carnival WaterWorks, the thrilling onboard water park featuring Twister Waterslide and Splash Park! Or you might enjoy Serenity, the Adult-Only Retreat. Here you’ll find yourself in is one of complete peace, sea breezes, swaying hammocks and, of course, a nearby bar.
Day 4 – Freeport, Bahamas – Today, enjoy the island town of Freeport, the resort center of Grand Bahama Island. You’ll find plenty of razzle-dazzle entertainment, from a casino to music clubs to barefoot beach bars. But if you’re looking for the Bahamas of seductive, palm-fringed beaches, gentle turquoise seas, and nature at its most vivid, you’ll find that, too, along with beautiful white sand beaches.
Day 5 – Havana, Cuba – Colorful clothes blur by you as dancers move to the beat of salsa. Wisps of cigar smoke swirl above the heads of locals enjoying a game of dominos. Chilled glasses clink in rhythm to trumpet notes as you savor mojitos and live jazz. Be among the first to explore Havana and experience the sabor of Cuba. Stroll colorful attractions as bright classic cars cruise wide boulevards. Learn the secret of the country’s famed cigars or see the 16th century fort, Castillo De Los Tres Reyes Del Morro, overlooking the entrance to Havana Bay. Immerse yourself in artistic masterpieces and get a taste of delicious local cuisine.
The door to Cuba’s soul, Havana captivates with its larger-than-life culture, sultry rhythms and weathered beauty. Take a relaxing stroll along the evocative Malecón, the quintessentially Cuban thoroughfare and get lost among the Baroque facades and colonial cobblestone streets of Old Havana. Visit the grandiose Capitolio Nacional and explore the world-class art collection at Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, which showcases everything from colonial-era paintings to countless masterpieces from Cuba’s famed Vanguard period. Enjoy a friendly game of dominoes with the locals. Sip a daiquiri at Hemingway’s favorite haunt, El Floridita, happen upon a live jazz group and simply savor the eclectic moment in this unique corner of the Americas.
Day 6 – Fun Day At Sea – Relax poolside on your last day of your cruise. Enjoy the many onboard activities that the Carnival Ecstasy offers or visit one of the many shops onboard to buy that last souvenir you’ve had your eye on all week. You may want to visit the Piano Bar because this is the bar where you call the shots – and the songs. Pull up a seat, order your favorite cocktail, and let your friendly piano player know the songs you’d like to hear. Then join the sing-along for a hand-clapping, foot-tapping, finger-snapping good time.
Day 7 – Charleston, SC & Depart for home – This morning, the Carnival Sunshine returns to Charleston, SC. You then will depart for home.
