Day 1: Arrive in Tunica for a three-night stay at a Casino hotel. Dinner tonight will be at a casino hotel.
Day 2: This day features a narrated Delta Blues tour. You will be traveling down one of those roads today, Highway 61, America’s “Blues Highway” on your way to Clarksdale, a town highly acclaimed for keeping the blues alive. On arrival you will be met by a local tour guide who will take you on the back roads of this quite little town in search of the spirits of the Delta Blues country.
Your morning tour will be enhanced by a special stop to visit the Delta Blues Museum located in the renovated Clarksdale railroad depot. As the sound of the Delta plays in the main gallery, you will learn about the history of the blues and the musicians that brought it to the world. Your next stop in the Clarksdale Historic District will be at Ground Zero for a Southern-style plate lunch.
Following lunch your Delta adventure will continue on to the Hobson Plantation where you will find yourself immersed in the living history of this authentic southern plantation. As you stroll around the compound you will see the original sharecropper shacks, original cotton gin, seed houses and the commissary that is filled with antiques and artifacts pertaining to the culture of the surrounding Mississippi Delta. A special Southern culture departing gift of a RC Cola & Moon pie will be given to each passenger to enjoy on your journey back to your hotel.
Day 3: Features a full day King of Rock Tour. Meet your tour guide for a tour of Tupelo, best known as the Birthplace of Elvis Presley.
Experience the unique blend of fascinating history, interesting attractions, diverse recreation, and a variety of shopping venues. Next visit the Elvis Presley Birthplace & Museum, a modest, two-room house where the King of Rock & Roll was born.
Then travel to Memphis for a Platinum tour of Graceland. This a one-of-a-kind experience will lead you on Elvis’s fascinating journey to superstardom. You will experience the cultural changes that led to the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll and see, first-hand, how Elvis became the most celebrated entertainer in the world. Following Graceland, travel to Beale Street for Dinner at the Blues City Cafe and sample some of the South’s favorite dishes.
Day 4: Depart for home.
