Day 1 – Arrive Myrtle Beach

Arrive today in Myrtle Beach for three nights of oceanfront lodging. Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day 2 – Brookgreen Gardens – Hopsewee Plantation Southern Tea – Eco Tour

Today, enjoy a morning tour of serene Brookgreen Gardens, part of a 6000-acre estate that was once four rice plantations. More than 500 works of American sculptors are on display in the gardens, as well as wildlife and historical exhibits of South Carolina animals and artifacts.

Next, you head to Hopsewee Plantation for an afternoon tour and Southern Tea. Built circa 1740, some 40 years before the American Revolutionary War, Hopsewee Plantation was one of the South’s major rice plantations and the birthplace of Thomas Lynch, Jr., one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Following your tour, you visit the River Oak Cottage Tea Room for an afternoon Southern Tea. The Plantation’s Southern Tea is modeled after an English Afternoon Tea served in three courses. Several varieties of teas, sandwiches, scones and treats are passed at the table for you to enjoy.

The afternoon features the Grand Strand’s most popular ecology trip. Discover a “Marine Wonderland”, during a 2 hour boat journey guided by a marine naturalist. Experience the vital, living habitat that is home to hundreds of fascinating mysterious marine creatures. Learn the spellbinding secrets, kept hidden and waiting just beneath the surface of the water!  See a demonstration of live crabbing and other creatures as they pull up the cage onboard, for all to see and touch. You will visit a nearby beach in search of treasures and shells. Your experience will come from the natural waters of Murrells Inlet not a zoo or aquarium.

Dinner is included tonight at Thoroughbreds Restaurant. Outfitted with mahogany walls, leather accents, fireplaces, oil paintings and French doors; the setting is pleasing to the eyes just as the food is pleasing to the palate.  Tantalizing appetizers, hearty chowders, crusty breads, delicate vegetables, fresh seafood, delectable fowl and inventive desserts all entertain the superb gallery of entrée selections. Day 3 – Art Museum – Winery Tour – Wine & Paint Party – Legends in Concert

This morning, you visit the Franklin G. Burroughs – Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum, housed in a 1924 converted beach cottage. The museum is dedicated to being one of the finest visual arts museums in the Carolinas. There are variety of exhibitions, changing every three to four months, an extensive permanent collection of regional artwork and historical maps, and a fine arts resource library. Also included with your visit is an art seminar. This might include a gallery talk by an exhibiting artist, a workshop in the art studio or a watercolor class.

This afternoon, you partake in a Deluxe Wine Tasting, offered at Duplin Winery, makers of America’s favorite Muscadine wine. The tasting allows you to sample up to 10 wines on the tasting sheet and enjoy delicious gourmet crackers and dip. Plus, you get to keep your Duplin wine glass and have a serving of wine afterwards from the tasting sheet.

Then you enjoy a Wine & Paint Party. What’s better than toasting to a good time with friends? A Wine & Paint Part is a fun way to create memories and masterpieces and enjoy a glass of wine. Glasses, canvases, and paintbrushes are provided and a local artist guides you through the party, stroke-by-stroke. All you need to bring is the wine.

Dinner is included tonight at Captain George’s Seafood Restaurant. Located directly across from Broadway at the Beach, Captain George’s serves up our world-famous seafood buffet in a one-of-a-kind environment that’s a treat for all the senses.

This evening, you have tickets for Legends in Concert, a world famous live tribute show featuring an amazing all star cast of FIVE great acts in ONE grand live show in Myrtle Beach. Legends In Concert performances are the real thing, with performers singing with their natural voices and perfection of mannerisms, hair and dress of the original celebrities portrayed.  All this backed by a hot live band, singers, dancers, special effects and lighting in an intimate style theater where everyone has a great view. The acts rotate at least four times a year, so audiences experience a brand-new performance each season. Legends In Concert was voted the number one live tribute show in Myrtle Beach. It’s An Event You Won’t Forget! (B,D)
