Day 1 – Myrtle Beach & Alabama Theatre – Today, travel to Myrtle Beach, SC. On arrival, check into the Beach Cove Resort (or similar) for three nights oceanfront lodging.
Tonight, enjoy dinner this evening at Giant Crab Seafood Restaurant. One of the best things about a trip to Myrtle Beach is the abundance of tasty seafood. Nowhere in Myrtle Beach will you find more abundance or tastier seafood than Giant Crab Seafood Restaurant. Overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway in the Restaurant Row section of Highway 17, the restaurant resembles an authentic Fisherman’s Wharf Village.
Following dinner, you will enjoy a performance at the Alabama Theatre. ONE The Show – combines extraordinary talent, iconic production numbers, sizzling visual elements and extravagant costuming with hit songs from many exciting musical genres into a production, critics are calling “A Mega Hit!” (D)
Day 2 – Brookgreen Gardens & Pirates Voyage – Enjoy a morning guided tour of serene Brookgreen Gardens, part of a 6000-acre estate that was once four rice plantations. More than 500 works of American sculptors are on display in the gardens, as well as wildlife and historical exhibits of South Carolina animals and artifacts.
This afternoon enjoy lunch on your own and shopping at Broadway at the Beach. You might enjoy Wahburgers, founded in Hingham, MA by Paul, Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, Dave & Buster’s – where you can “Eat, Drink, Play & Watch Sports”, or Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen with it first floor where you can shop for cookbooks, recipe mixes, home accessories and gifts. Or you might want to check out Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, Sweet Carolina’s, Southern Grill or Broadway Louie’s. Do a little browsing at Southern Living Store, Savannah Bee, Earthbound Trading Co., A Silver Shack and many more.
Ahoy Matey! This evening you head to Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show. Join Captain Blackbeard, the most famous pirate to ever sail the seven seas, and his quartermaster Calico Jack as they lead the Crimson and Sapphire crews in an epic battle for lost treasure on land, on deck, in water and high above full-sized pirate ships in a 15 foot deep indoor hideaway lagoon! Ye will thrill at the swashbuckling excitement of spectacular acrobatic competitions, aerial feats, sea lions, tropical birds, beautiful mermaids and much more! Which camp takes the treasure may be up to you as ye cheer me buccaneers to victory, all while ye enjoy a fabulous four-course feast! (B,D)
Day 3 – Barefoot Landing & The Music of ABBA – Following a leisurely morning and time for the beach, this afternoon you head to Barefoot Landing for free time and shopping. Located along the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach, Barefoot Landing features national retail shops, quaint boutiques, an impressive selection of restaurants and eateries. Unique shops such as: Tiki Jim’s, the Okive Shoppe, Tassa Cabana, The Mole Hole, Dixie Outfitters, Christmas Mouse and Crabby Jack’s General Store to name a few. And there are plenty of places to grab some lunch on own: Castano’s Italian Steakhouse, Cafe’ de Paris, Dick’s Last Resort, Flying Fish Public Market & Grill, TBonz Gill & Grill to name a few.
Dinner is included tonight at Thoroughbreds Restaurant. Since opening in 1988, Thoroughbreds has become known simply as the best overall restaurant in Myrtle Beach, as well as being widely known as the perennial locals’ favorite, serving only the finest beef and ultra-fresh seafood.
