Day 1 – Today, you travel to Nashville, TN where you check into the Opryland Resort Hotel for a three night stay. Enjoy a free evening to explore the hotel and have dinner on your own.
Day 2 – After breakfast this morning you start with a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. For more than 40 years, the Museum has been home to thousands of priceless artifacts, images, and sounds that have inspired young and old from around the globe.
After touring the Country Music Hall of Fame, you join one of Music City’s many accomplished writers for an hour-long session of songwriting. By offering personal insight and direction, the writer guides your group in creating an original song of their own. This unique experience concludes with a group recording of their newly created song. Group will get a master copy of that recording which you can take with you to the Wildhorse Saloon.
Then lunch is served and dance lessons are given at the Wildhorse Saloon, one of Nashville’s most popular attractions. After lunch you will have free time for shopping or sightseeing in downtown Nashville.
Later this afternoon, you head to the Fontanel Mansion for a tour of the mansion. The Fontanel Mansion, a 27, 000 square foot log home formerly owned by Country Music Hall of Fame member Barbara Mandrell, boasts three stories, over 20 rooms, thirteen bathrooms, five fireplaces, and two kitchens. Throughout this tour, guests will be let by storytellers and musicians.
Dinner this evening is at Cafe’ Fontanella for unique Southern cuisine and authentic Italian fare. It’s one of the few Italian restaurants in Nashville where you can relish live music and dinner.
Day 3 – Following breakfast at the hotel this morning, you will enjoy a full day of activities celebrating the Opry’s 93rd Birthday including the Opry’s birthday cake, plus a special birthday concert, backstage tours, free music in the Opry Plaza, and more!
As part of your “Birthday” package you may take a self-guided tour of the Ryman Auditorium. Established in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle, Ryman Auditorium is a National Historic Landmark and must see for any Nashville visitor. Most famous as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 — 1974, there is far more to the story of Music City’s most recognizable icon.
Also included today is a Backstage Tour of the Grand Ole Opry House. Walk in the footsteps of country music’s superstars and get an exclusive look at what happens behind the scenes of the show that made country music famous!
You will have a Picnic Lunch voucher that you can use at one of the food vendors on the Plaza. There will also be plenty of live music to enjoy on the Plaza during the day. The afternoon also includes a Special Birthday Concert with a featured Country Music Artist (TBD).
End the day with tickets for the Grand Ole Show. For more than 85 years, country’s best have mesmerized audiences at the Grand Ole Opry Live Radio Show, the show that made country music famous. Each Opry show features an array of performances by new stars, superstars and legends of country music as well as great bluegrass, comedy and more. Opry shows are never rehearsed and never the same show twice.
Day 4 – After breakfast, depart for home.
