Day 1 – NEW Arrive U.S. Space & Rocket Center
You are scheduled for a mid-afternoon arrival at the U S Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. All housing and meals are included during your stay at Space Camp. (Chaperones lodging included at hotel within walking distance to Space Camp.) Grops that are flying will have an airport shuttle waiting for them.
Day 2 – Full Day Space Camp Program
A full day of activities the first day typically includes Mission Training, Team Building Activities such as the Low Ropes Challenge Course, History Lessons, Team Photo, Underwater Astronaut Training or Aviation Challenge, Jet Simulators & Centrifuge.
Day 3 – Full Day Space Camp Program
Second Days usually have a Model Rocket Introduction, Science Lab Experiments, Mission Training, Team Building Exercises, a simulated Space Flight Mission as well as a little more history.
Day 4 – Full Day Space Camp Program
Team Building and Mission Training continue with such activities Model Rocket Construction and Testing, simulated Space Flight Missions, and a Guest Speaker.
Day 5 – Full Day Space Camp Program
Each day brings new excitement. Today features an extended duration spaceflight mission, launching of your model rockets, a Starlab presentation, Astronaut Training Simulators, and Night Telescope Star Finding.
Day 6 – Space Camp Graduation Day & Atlanta, GA
It’s a busy morning with a presentation on the future of spaceflight, simulators for Spaceshot G-Force, and the Mars Wall, as well as a Spacebowl Competition with other Space Camp Teams. Then there is a Graduation Ceremony before your group departs.
You then travel to Atlanta, GA for a three night stay. Dinner is included tonight at a local restaurant.
Day 7 – Full Day of Atlanta Touring
This morning you start with a visit to the Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the world. It is home to tens of thousands of animals including 500 species from around the world and more than 60 habitats including four beluga whales. The aquarium features a number of exhibits that are sure to reel you in such as 4-D theater, the Penguin Waddle Walk, and the dolphin exhibit and show featuring an expansive underwater dolphin viewing window and a spectacular musical theatrical performance that highlights the emotional bond shared between dolphins and humans.
Next, you head to the World of Coca-Cola where the famous soft drink’s story is told through fascinating exhibits, classic ads and a fanciful representation of the bottling process. Taste Coca-Cola products from around the world and pick your favorite before raiding the gift shop for souvenirs.
Then you will take the CNN Studio Tour and discover how a newsroom operates. Listen to behind-the-scenes action of the actual newsroom, see what it takes to put a news broadcast together and even learn how the weather map works.
Late this afternoon you visit the Centennial Olympic Park, created as a 21-acre gathering spot for visitors and residents to enjoy during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
The Fountain of Rings is the centerpiece of Centennial Olympic Park and is one of the most recognized and photographed landmarks in Georgia. Millions of international and local guests visit the Park every year to enjoy the world’s largest interactive fountain featuring the Olympic Ring symbol.
Dinner is included tonight at Mary Mac’s Tea Room. For over 60 years Mary Mac’s Tea Room has been setting the standard for Southern Cooking in Atlanta. This evening you enjoy a family buffet style dinner that has remained largely the same for three generations.
Day 8 – Six Flags Over Georgia
This morning after breakfast, you tour the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, the largest natural history museum in the Southeast. Experience a world of adventure filled with dinosaurs, live animals, cultural artifacts and hands-on science explorations. Take a walk on the wild side as you explore 75 acres of new outdoor nature adventures. Be sure to see a film in Fernbank’s Giant Screen IMAX Theater. There is also the Nature Quest a cutting-edge, interactive exhibit with live animal habitats and exploration of ecosystems found throughout the world.
The rest of the day and evening is spent at Six Flags Over Georgia, home to 11 roller coasters, water rides and thrill rides. During the summer months, guests can splash around in Skull Island, the park’s huge interactive water play structure featuring dozens of water elements and slides.
Brand new at Six Flags Over Georgia is the Hurricane Harbor water park, a tropical paradise full of wave pools and slippery slides. Tsunami Surge is a dual-slide complex that drops riders down an enclosed five-story drop and whirls them around in a 40-foot wide bowl follow by a zero-gravity plunge out the bottom. Bonzai Pipeline soars through winding curves, dark tunnels and swirling bowls.
A Meal Voucher is included with your admission for dinner at the Park.
Day 9 – Departure Day
After breakfast you depart for home or to the airport for your flight home.
